PHYSICAL THERAPIST - Torrance, CA
Our client is a patient-driven, innovative, long-term contract and full-service rehabilitation
company since 1995. The company provides a comprehensive continuum of physical, occupational, and
speech therapies to various medical settings throughout California with expertise in Post-Acute
Care, retirement communities, and outpatient clinics.
PT Job Summary:
The Physical Therapist provides quality care to all residents. The PT evaluates and treats
patients/residents, communicates with their families, physicians, and other health team members, and
maintains all necessary documentation of services in the patient’s medical records.
Physical therapy services include treatment planning and implementation, discharge planning, testing
patients’ physical abilities, analyzing rehabilitation goals, and consulting with the rehab
team and other health team members to coordinate the most effective treatment program.
Responsibilities and Duties:

Evaluate patients promptly upon receiving physician referral for treatment.

Develop effective treatment plans.

Obtain approval for services from the referring physician.

Treat patients according to the treatment plan approved by the physician.

Record evaluations, daily treatment notes, weekly progress notes, 14-day progress reports to
the physician, recertifications, and discharge summaries per Company and facility policy and
procedures.

Participate in discharge planning.

Secure necessary durable medical equipment (e.g., orthoses, walkers, canes elevated toilet
seats, and grab bars) for patients to facilitate independent mobility.

Submit all billing logs and necessary information on a timely basis.

Supervise up to two Physical Therapist Assistants.

Supervise students during the internship.

Provide clearly defined, career-related (i.e., non-clerical) responsibilities and tasks in
accordance with the students’ academic programs.

Inform student interns about ensuring their compliance with company, facility, state, and
federal guidelines.
Qualifications:
-
Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the State of California.

Must have valid CPR certification.

Must have a completed physical examination from a licensed physician.

Must have a negative TB skin test within the past year OR a clear Chest X-ray within the past
five years.

Compensation
Competitive hourly rates and one of the best benefits packages in the industry. The pay rate
for this position begins at $43.00/hour and increases based on experience.
